Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of “Book It”. In this edition we're going to discuss a topic that some people have went back and forth on over the years. That topic is the one of the Vince McMahon death angle from 2007.
To be honest this is a weirdly loaded question. That's because the angle generated a lot of buzz because most people didn't expect it for one. But, back then video editing was a special talent and it took a special skill set to pull it off and it looked fantastic. But it was so clean that people thought Vince had actually died. It was a crazy moment, but who killed Vince McMahon.
To me there are three logical answers here and we’ll investigate each one. The first would be Shane McMahon. He was still a part of the company then and was in fact in an executive role. Bringing him back to TV wouldn’t have been a huge stretch. But, why? Because he felt that he was the rightful air of the company and that meant that Vince was in his way. He wanted to rid the world of the old man so that he could take his spot at the top of the mountain.
The second choice would be Stephanie McMahon. At this point she still wasn’t seen as the rightful heir but maybe this was her way of making a statement and opening an authority war between herself and her brother for control of the throne. That would have been an interesting sell. That’s because Stephanie wasn’t in the forefront of TV programing at the time so putting her there in such a way would been an interesting to see.
The third one here is interesting, and would have been fun to watch from a development standpoint. That is that Linda McMahon killed Vince. It’s been documented how Linda has issues with some of the things that Vince did back in the 90’s. There are a lot of reasons they could have given as motive for Linda to hit the button and send the limo into flames. Then from there you could have had people digging up things to explain why Linda completely went insane and killed her husband of so many years.
Regardless of who, and how you look at the storyline. It would have been fun one to watch unfold. It’s sad that the circumstances prevented it from coming to pass but at the end of the day speculation is half of the fun right? Guys, this marks edition #14 of this blog and in the past few months I’ve had a ton of fun writing this column. But, for now I’m taking a small break. That’s because this blog isn’t quite as known as my other one and thus I think it won’t suffer quite as bad. Don’t worry I’ll be back but I will be spending the remainder of this year writing a new book and prepping to launch my first novel. There’s a lot of work thats involved in that so I’m going to step away from this blog just for a short time. Be sure to follow me on Facebook/Twitter and my mailing list. As well as check out my Other blog “In The Demons’ Head”
Until the new year, I’m Kyle Robinson closing this book for now.
