In The Demon's Head #211: A feeling like none other
March 2, 2015
I write this post at 8 Pm on Monday night. I was off work from my other job today and I used that time to really get some things done. One of those things included finishing the first draft of my novel "Sovereign". As I sat there and waited as each stack of pages printed out I realized that I actually managed to complete a very strange and what I thought would be far off goal, I finished a novel.

I can't put into words how great it felt. How great it felt to stare at that large stack of double spaced pages sitting on my desk. As it sits the double spaced version came out to 239 pages, clocking in at just over 60K words. While not the longest book ever written, I defiantly like the storyline and I like the characters. I think that this will be the first book in a series.
I can say that this is one of those moments where it's a learning experience. Everyone has heard it said, you only get better if you do it. I believe the same is said for writing, and after finishing this novel, the bug has me. I've spent the day trying to figure out how to start plotting the next book in the series. I know what I'm aiming to do and where I'm aiming to go with this particular story arc.
I believe that with each book I will get better. I believe that with each book, I will do better work, tell a better story. There are a LOT of projects that I intend to start and finish. Scripts, books, story arcs, different projects and things of that nature, if it can be written eventually I'm going to at least attempt to put words on paper.
However, that's the future. Right now I'm going to bask in this feeling for the next day. I've already set a new deadline for myself for novel #2, which doesn't have a name yet. As well as a time to start editing Sovereign, which I intend to let some time from to freshen my brain from it. I'll keep you updated as those deadlines come and go. In the meantime, I'm going to keep busy and focus on all of the projects and irons that I have in the fire, including this blog.
This is a short post, but I'd like to say thank you for joining me for this romp into the demon's head, until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
Just so your aware, you can check out the Library where you'll find all of my published writings and even more as they come, be sure to click here and sign up for the mailing list. Last but not least, visit here, click like and follow my Facebook page.
