In The Demon's Head #170: A New Year
January 13, 2014
Hello everyone and welcome to the New Year. This is the first post that I've written for this blog in over a month. In the last month of the year, I celebrated the holidays with my family and loved ones, and as the New Year, and my birthday approached I got excited but sad at the same time. I realized that yet another year had passed when I didn't do what I had set out to do. That goal was to further my writing career, and I feel like I let myself, and my readers down. Then in the last few days, I've done a lot of reading. The ideas have been numerous. When I get around to them, I know that you guys will enjoy them. This blog post is going to be full of some awesome goings on. So let's get started with the first of those.

Hello everyone and welcome to the New Year. This is the first post that I've written for this blog in over a month.
New Things are On The Horizon
The novel is on the back burner for the next few months, only because of school. My writing however is not. I'm going to put together a small collection that I'm working on a title for. It will be available for 99 cents. It will be shorter, probably around 20-30 pages nothing massive. It will give you some new things to read, and hopefully share with your friends.
I fully don't expect this to be the only collection like this this year. However, there is more. There will be at least 1 maybe even as many as 3 new novella's released this year. I have been working on the ideas for them for some time and I'm going to get down to writing them. I'm very excited about what's coming, and I will keep you posted.
The news on the novel; I love the story. I love the characters, the world I created, I can't wait to finish it. But there are ideas that have taken up space in my mind. Because of that, I needed to take a step back and focus on some stuff that I can't shake. That leads me to the next point.
Return of Photo Poem
With the inception of some new branches of Technology, I'm looking at returning to the Photo Poem post that I did for a few months last year. It helps keeps my brain sharp, and it gives me new content more frequently to the website.
The last time that I did these photo poem post it was a very interested turn of events. People liked them. I also think that it helped me be seen by some new people which is always the goal when you're a beginning author.
The way in delivery for these post is going to be a bit different this time around. Before, I could set the post up in advance, but marketing them out to you guys was a bit more difficult. I think that I've now found a combination of how to do this so it works well in the end.
Next week, I'm going to roll out a bata test of this entire idea to make sure that it works. Should it work, then we'll be in business and I'll likely keep them coming. Should it not work, I'd still like to do something but not 100 percent sure of how I'm going to do it.
Final Thoughts
I have some high hopes for 2014, and I expect that I will be able to put out a lot more work. The last couple of years have been drag happy with only two real things to show for it. I intend to change that completely in 2014 and have more things in my library. I
I get the subscription to The Writer, and in the interview for the month (which I rarely read) I stumbled across an interesting quote: Put your butt in a chair and write, if you don't put your butt in that chair, you're not a writer. You're a person with an interesting hobby. That line struck me pretty hard, and I realized the last two years, I haven't been a writer by those standards. That changes in 2014, you can be damn sure of that.
Until next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
