In The Demon's Head #223: Being Served a Reminder
June 1, 2015
Hello friends, welcome to the first day of June. We are officially halfway through 2015. I have to admit that I expected to be a little further along then I am but all the same I can't complain to terribly much. I'm well on my way to finishing novel number 3 and six months into the year that doesn't seem like a horrible place to be. It's the editing part that's going to fuck me up let's be honest. With all that said, let's jump into what today's post is all about, and that's realizing how far you've come when chasing a dream like I am.

Reminders on Silver Platters
Recently Facebook unveiled a new feature that basically let's you look into the past and see what you've posted on Facebook on that particular day throughout the years. While in some cases, such as seeing pictures of an ex, or someone who might have passed away, this could be horrible, there are situations where this is one of those Golden moments where Facebook at least makes me feel a little bit better about the path that I'm choosing to walk.
Case in point, a month ago I started to use this feature and the first few days were kind of dry. But I started to see post from my writing page that I'd shared and different messages and statues that I'd posted through the last three years about where I was in the writing process. It was at that moment that I took a step back and realized that while I'm not a best-selling author yet, and that's partially my own fault I must admit, I am making strides and reaching the right areas to help grow my brand. In fact, that's all a lot of this is about is growing your brand, you need to expose yourself, no pun intended to new eye balls any chance that you get.
That's the way that I look at any project that I take on now, how will it help me increase my view with the reading public and how can I take what I know and apply it to this game of writing. Because truth be told, I've done a lot of number crunching in the last week. Where I live, and what I'm doing for a living now, there's not a lot of blocking between me and making this my full time job. The fact is that you have to have a different mindset, and I feel that in the last few years I've managed to achieve that mindset.
Being a businessman, especially when you're locked into a full time job like I am isn't an easy feat. However, the last couple of months I've been making sure that I'm devoting time to helping build my brand, and my reputation online so that one day I can finally reach and achieve the dream of being a full time writer, entertainer, and businessman.
Final Thoughts
Everything that I do, I do in order to take steps forward and make sure that I don't do anything that won't help increase my view, help people find me, help me take steps forward so that I am able to finally reach the goal that I want to reach in this lifetime.
Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell, and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
