In The Demon's Head #188: Down The Road I Go
May 21, 2014
Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of "In The Demon's Head" Today I have a special treat for you as I introduce to you the second part in a wicked series. Be sure to check out the first part which was released Monday. That is available here. Without further ado, here is your newest piece.
Down the Road I go
I'm walking alone,
Whatever has pulled me in,
Wouldn't let me go,
And now I feel it pulling me toward,
Whatever lies,
Within this world,
I want to believe that I'll be safe,
But given how this world looks,
I don't think that anything will ever be safe here again,
I walk quietly,
Taking in what's left of the scenery around me,
And I notice how there is a gray tint to everything,
That is left in this world,
Building,
The ground,
Even the sky,
Is gray,
I walk,
The tugging within,
Pulls me down the road,
Through the city,
I see bodies lying on the ground,
Littered about,
Like trash on a gravel road,
A gravel road in the real world,
A world that I don't think I'll ever see again,
I walk for what feels like hours,
And the passing sights never get any better,
Then I see it in the distance,
And I realize that the pulling that I'm feeling,
Is guiding me there,
Why,
Is beyond me,
But I continue to move,
I don't think that at this point,
I could stop,
Finally,
I find myself in the shadow,
Of the monstrous building,
I don't know how my body knows,
But it leads me to the door,
And I knock,
From there I wait,
Hoping what's on the other side,
Is brighter then what's out here.

About The Piece
The second piece is built on a lot of imagery. I left a lot of openness for a reason. What I saw and believed happened in that world may not be completely what you think, and while a lot of ends will be reached on Friday, we are far from our endgame. I want you to spend the next few days thinking about what you believe the world has become.
You can check out the Library and pick up a copy of any of the available works. Hopefully soon, "Paper Dolls" my next novella will be available or pre-order. I'll keep you updated on that as it moves closer. You can also follow me on a number of social media websites, to pick your poison of choice click here. Last but not least, don't forget to sign up for the mailing list. All I need is your email, and you get a coupon for a free copy of "Blackout" seems like a win-win to me. So don't delay sign up now!
Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
