In The Demon's Head #216: Fighting With The Demon's Inside
March 25, 2015
Hello everyone,
This post originates on Wednesday and is later then normal as per the recent post that I've been sharing the last few weeks. That's mainly because on Monday when I had the day off, I literally spent the entire day working on the new Manuscript, if I wasn't working on that then I was riding my spyder, after all you have to have some enjoyment in life right? And hell if it wasn't amazing outside on Monday.

However, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that the good weather here isn't the only thing that I've been fighting with. I've also been locked in my own head with a bit of depression. I don't use that term loosely given that have friends and family members who suffer from the disease, and I'm not claiming that I do, however, I have felt vastly different the last few days.
A lot of it started earlier this week when I was listening to a podcast and learned that the guys doing it were successful. What I mean by that is that they are able to get up and every day they write, and that's what they are now making a living doing.
I don't know exactly why that hit me so hard but it kind pressed my buttons and made me a little sad, I have to admit. Slowly that sadness started to eat at me and eventually took me down the rabbit hole. I've had the self-doubt creep in, the questions of why I haven't been able to find an audience yet, and a lot of that second question is my fault. I know that. However, it just seems that with one comes the other I guess.
While I can say that I don't think I'm out of the Rabbit hole yet, I am better than I was a couple of days ago, and that seems like a positive step in the right direction. Well, now that I've brought the overall mood of this post all the way down to the absolute bottom, let's try and make our way back up shall we?
Subscribing Will Get you Perks!
So the last couple of weeks, I've been making a heavy push to get subscribers to my mailing list. It's worked to some degree and I've had people signing up which is a definite positive. However, I started thinking, How can I give those people who sign up more? I want to make this list grow and with it, I want to give you guys something that allows for you to get more out of signing up for this mailing list. Then I got to thinking about it and I've come up with something.
First, starting next Friday if you sign up for the mailing list you'll be getting a once weekly subscribers only newsletter. This newsletter will have a bunch of random shit in it, and be a lot more light hearted then this blog can sometimes be. You'll get special information before the general public, and once the new year hits and I go on the marketing frenzy that I truly expect to go on, you'll get promotional offers as a way of saying thank you for being a member of the list.
Plus, I'll be doing advance giveaways in some form. I haven't quite worked out the ideas on that one just yet but I'd like to say thank you to everyone and that's one way that I know of to give you guys something special.
The Second Manuscript
That sounds like the title to a book right there doesn't it? Okay, kidding aside. I'm heavy at work pounding away at the first draft of my second novel, book number two in a trilogy that I intend to release next year. I'm hoping that you guys enjoy the storyline that I have set up within this set of books because I really like it so far.
As of this writing I am roughly 27 thousand words into the book and about three quarters of the way through it. I'm interested in seeing how it ends seeing as there are things that I didn't expect within this story that have happened.
The best part of the creative process is that I've also come up with a name for this particular story. I hinted at it on Facebook the other day but never really let the cat out of the bag so to speak. So, I'd like to say this now, if your interested in what the title of the second novel is, (and I really hope that at this point you are interested, if not I haven't done my job correctly) then be sure to sign up for the mailing list at the bottom of this page, you will be the first to know what the title of the new book is, likely in the first newsletter that I have slated for next Friday.
The ideas Continue
I have come up with a lot of different ideas in the last few weeks. Some of them novels, some of them short stories, some of them for serialized stories. A lot of them are ideas that I really like, some of them I'll probably toss. The fact remains that my brain keeps tweaking and rolling. I expect a lot of good things in the next couple of years, because I expect my brain to continue to roll like none other.
Final Thoughts
I'll keep everyone up to date as I move forward with all of the projects that I have going on. In the meantime be sure that you sign up and join the mailing list for the exclusive newsletter, the link to this blog, as well as a free copy of "Blackout" all it requires is your email address. If you have Facebook, be sure to join me on my official author page. Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
