In The Demon's Head #158: Fireflies
September 4, 2013
Hello everyone and welcome back to the week. It's Wednesday and we're already working our way toward another weekend. I'd take that as a good sign. This week there weren't any post Monday or Tuesday due to the extended weekend. I have to apologize in advance; I didn't manage to get last week's post up on time, which was not the greatest of signs for me. Either way, I hope that you enjoy this week's post, and feel free to share it with as many people as you think may enjoy it. Let's take a look at today's picture:

Fireflies
When the night air settles in,
I took a walk,
Through the woods,
Along that walk,
There was a break in the path,
And just because,
I could,
I decided to take it,
I walked slowly,
And I realized,
That a light,
Waited up ahead,
I walked,
And ahead,
I noticed something,
The light was surrounded,
By fireflies,
But the fireflies,
Were different,
Deformed,
Their teeth were bared,
They were growling,
And flying around the light,
I stood and watched,
The blood was dripping through their teeth,
They swarmed,
And I ran,
They stopped shy of me,
And I could hear them growling to me,
All the way back to the main trail,
I haven't ever re-visited the trail,
Instead the fireflies,
Have haunted my dreams,
The blood dripping from their teeth,
Drips onto my floor,
I scream,
And I can't wake up,
The blood drenches me,
I wake up eventually,
And the sweat rolls off my face,
Every day,
The nightmares continue,
I can't shake away the fireflies,
That seem intent to haunt me,
Into an early grave.
About The Piece
I wasn't 100 percent sure where and how I wanted this piece to go. I feel that it turned out decently well. I like the creatures that were created. The picture told a bit of a different story then I had envisioned, but it came out good. I hope you guys have enjoyed it.
Check out the sign-up sheet on the right hand side to get a subscription to the blog, coupons, exclusive pieces, and other things. Sign up is easy; all I need is your email. Also, you can check out my Library and choose your retailer to pick up a copy of "Blackout". Until, the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
