In The Demon's Head #208: 2015 and Beyond
February 1, 2015
I feel like I say this a lot but man it's been a while since I wrote a post for this blog. Upon saving this piece, which I always do at first, I noticed the last time I wrote a post was back in November. Good lord that was forever ago. But today's post comes with some news. I'd like to tell you what my ideas are for the coming year and beyond.

Novels and Publishing
I've been going back and forth on this for the last couple of months. Do I want to continue to pursue self-publishing, or do I want to seek out traditional representation. It's one of those questions that you have to weigh a lot of options. Honestly, I'm still completely unsure of what direction I really aim to go with everything. In the meantime, I'm continuing work on the first draft of my first novel. My current goal is to have that draft done by February 21. Should that happen your likely going to get three posts this month.
While my brain weighs all of my options, I'd love to know what ya'll think. So please feel free to send me an email, a facebook message, comment on this post whatever you feel comfortable with. I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter.
Short Story Publication
This year, likely through the off time from the novel, I'm out to try and write a number of short stories and start seeking publication. Regardless of which direction I go, these add to my resume. I purchased a Writer's Market 2015 book and with it I get access to the online Writer's Market. So my goal is to spend most of March, and maybe the first half of April while my novel sits away from my brain writing and submitting short stories. I have no patience but we'll have to let it ride, this is a step I really need to take should my career ever find a way to take off. I have a lot of ideas for stories that I've been crafting through a class and I really haven't put them out there but now I'm aiming to and I'm going to write more. The goal is to get my name out there and I hope that this is a good way to do it.
Through the end of 2015
My first novel will be finished, polished and ready to go this year. On top of that I'm hoping I can write the other two books in this trilogy as well. Not sure about polishing them this year but I'd like to have their first drafts down on paper. Past that I'm unsure of what I aim to accomplish this year, I'd really like to start a fourth book should I manage to accomplish these feats. We'll have to wait and see how the year unfolds.
Later this month, expect an anniversary post which will include an update on how close I am to completing that first draft. Also, I'd like to do a post once I complete the draft to kind of let you guys know the hardships I went through to finish that draft. We'll see how it plays out.
Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell, and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
