In The Demon's Head #218: Losing The Habit
April 20, 2015
Hello everyone and Happy Monday Morning. I hope that this post finds you well in your weeks beginning. I sit here staring out my front window as I write this listening to a new bluetooth speaker that I picked up at big lots. (PS. I recommend the Polaroid one) I've had an interesting week to say the least. All of it leads to the meaning behind the title this particular post. Thanks for suiting up and joining me today

20 Hours, 2 ways
This past week, I had the joy of riding 10 hours from where I live to Gattlinburg, TN for my best friend's wedding. We left Sunday afternoon, stopped for the night, then got there on Monday Morning. The Wedding was Tuesday, and we left late Wednesday morning and drove all the way back almost 11 hours straight through.
To say that the drive was enjoyable would be one bold face fucking lie.
However, that drive did give me a lot of time to think, and within in there were some good ideas that pertained not only to my work but to my business side of this adventure as well.
You learn when you're in a car for that kind of time that there's only so much you can say to the people in the car with you. It leaves some time to your thoughts and that's what happened this time around.
However, it wasn't just time that I spent thinking. I tried to make the ride semi productive. As I rode down there I was able to flesh out characters for the new serial stories that I'm working on, that much I'm happy with. However, I'm still in a boat that I haven't been in for a couple of months. Which leads us to subject #2.
Losing the Habit
A couple of weeks ago I finished my second Novel and I have to admit that it was an amazing feeling. However, here's the problem, I haven't written a lot of words since then, and none of them have been for a new writing project. I went from putting together like 1500-3000 words a day to none. Slowly, while I'm not okay with it, I let it go. This has lead on for the last couple weeks, and just now I'm getting ready to start working on the new novellas. I'm not happy that I squandered the last two weeks, however, I'm going to try and make up for it. I've sketched out the first season in a yet to be titled serial novella. I'm going to try and write the first few episodes so that they are ready before I edit some stuff.
Preparation is key in everything and I want to make sure that I utilize my time the best way that I can so that I'm not continually in this boat all the time. I hate that the habits that I developed fell by the wayside but I do intend to right that wrong.
Final Thoughts
I've rambled on enough for this week. I hope that your week is productive and enjoyable and that your able to do something that you enjoy within that time frame. Life is too short to not enjoy yourself.
