In The Demon's Head #179: Love Of The Storm
March 7, 2014
Welcome to Friday everyone. For most people this pinpoints the end of the work week. For me it's crunch time to try and get the rest of my work done before the end of the week. I want to thank you guys for welcoming me back after being gone for a while. Let's take a look at today's picture and move onto today's picture.

Love Of The Storm
The hay and field call my name,
As they do every day,
But the empty house,
And the skies were open,
I didn't know what to expect,
But I went out to the field to start work,
I heard the thunder,
And before I could blink,
The downpour started,
And the thunder began to rumble,
I wanted to run,
But I managed to get into the truck,
And watched as the clouds,
Rolled overhead,
The winds were strong,
And the truck rocked,
I couldn't get out,
And it began to roll,
End over end,
Side to the side,
I couldn't stop it,
And I eventually blacked out,
I saw the light first,
Then darkness,
As I saw my wife's face drift in,
And out of focus,
Finally,
It was over,
And when the world came back into focus,
The storm was over,
I was in the field,
And I found my phone about 10 yards away,
I went to get it,
And noticed I had two missed calls,
And a voice mail,
"Sir we regret to inform you,
That your wife and your daughter came to us today,
With injuries sustained from a car accident,
The injuries were too great,
And they have both passed away."
I dropped the phone,
And my mind raced back,
To the image of my wife,
And I realized that,
She had told me good bye,
Her love never left,
And it was the storm that had given me a small chance,
To say that I love her,
If only it was a little longer.
