My Friend Brian
I drew him on a chalkboard,
And gave him personality,
He seemed to enjoy being around,
At least when it was just us,
He was my friend,
His name was Brian,
And he was always there,
As time went on,
And I went to school,
I didn't talk to Brian as much,
He seemed to still want to be around,
But I knew talking to him,
Would make me look odd,
To those real friends of mine,
So I pushed him aside,
There he sat,
For a while,
Watching,
I was the only one who could see him,
I didn't say anything,
It was a fear thing,
But as time stretched on,
Me and my friends,
Grew,
And I stopped having anything to do,
With Brian,
This was the point,
Where everything began to change,
I came home one day,
To see him,
Throwing my pictures,
And destroying my room,
I watched as he stormed away,
I began to pick up my room,
After a short time,
I smelt smoke,
I walked down stairs,
And I realized,
The left side of the kitchen was on fire,
Standing in the center,
Was Brian,
I ran,
For the door,
But he caught me,
And threw me back,
I slid to a stop by the stove,
"If I can't have you,
No one can."
I looked over my shoulder,
As the fire began to eat away at the wall,
I watched,
As part of it broke away,
And fell,
Landing right on my head,
And everything went black,
****
When I came to,
The sunlight was brilliant,
And blinding,
Where my house used to be,
Was nothing but brilliant flames,
I felt my mom wrap her arms around me,
"Are you okay?"
She asked.
I nodded,
Looking over her shoulder,
In the flames,
I saw the laughing face,
Of Brian,
As he fanned the flames.
About the Piece
This piece was inspired by "Paranormal Activity" in an odd way. The picture reminded me of something that I saw on a cartoon show not long ago and everything kind of meshed together. It all formed together to make what you read above. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I'd love your comments in the section below.

Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
