In The Demons’ Head: Revealing My Nanowrimo 2016 Project
October 28, 2016
Hello guys, it's been a little while since I've sat down to write a brand new post for this blog. It's funny because in the last month I've been gearing up for the insane sprint ahead of me known as National Novel Writing Month. It's that hellish time of year where writers from all over the world decided they were going to lose what little sanity they had. How you may ask? By trying to write an entire novel in one months time.

For me this is the third year I've attempted this feat. Two things are different this year: 1. I now have four written novels under my belt. That's not as many as some but it has taught me a lot about how to structure, set up, and finish a novel. 2. This is the first year I've fully planned out at least 98% of the novel. Up to this year I really only planned out 5% and it lead to me spending time trying to see where the story is going. This year though I see the beginning and the end, as well as the vast distance in the middle.
So then that brings up the question, what is the story I'm writing for this years NaNo? Let me introduce you to the project known as “Puppetmaster” It is unlike anything I've done in past. Honestly, looking at the planned out section of the novel that I have, I'm excited to watch the whole project unfold.
The premise is this: an evil entity sets up shop in a small town and begins to pray on the towns children as a way of sustaining his own immortality. I understand that when you look at the idea like that, written the way that it’s something that’s been done before. Hell, maybe it has but this is a spin on it that I really feel brings home the horror element that I strive to maintain. I enjoy writing and feel that at the end of the day this is going to be one of those books that really hits home and hopefully will be as enjoyable for ya’ll to read as it will no doubt be for me to write.
Over the course of the next four weeks, the posts on this blog will be very VERY short. The reason being that I will be spending a very large bulk of my time in November attempting to get this story written and done. However there will be updates throughout the month on this blog page about the progress that I’m making through the book. I will be releasing small updates through blog post on this page that will keep ya’ll up to date on how far I’m making it through the story. With that said I will be heading out for the day. I hope that you guys have a fantastic weekend, and enjoy Halloween this Monday. \
