In The Demon's Head #130: Only In My Lifetime
June 19, 2013
It's Wednesday. That and hell, we're already half-way through June. Where has this year gone? I don't feel like I'm getting nearly as much accomplished as I would like. Then again, show me a writer who does, and I'll show you a motivated person. Today, there isn't a lot of subtleties or introduction to pad this piece out, so I should shut up. Let's take a look at today's picture:

Only In My Lifetime
They pet me,
Play with me,
Treat me well,
They feed me treats,
Very good treats,
I run,
I play,
The life of a dog,
Seems almost too easy,
To be fair,
But I can't help,
But realize that this street,
Looks familiar,
These people,
Look familiar if only,
A little older,
Everything about this,
Reminds me,
Of a past life,
I don't know how,
But I remember these people,
Only I was a small boy,
No more then 13,
I was in the street,
(How do I know this)
And I was hit,
By a car?
I remember taking my last breath,
Staring into the sky,
And these people,
Those that now feed me,
Play with me,
Hold me,
Were the last ones I saw,
(In the past)
I don't know,
How I know this,
But the fact is,
The house,
At the end of the street,
Reaffirms it all,
As this dog,
I've never been inside that house,
But in the past,
I had been there,
I know it,
In my gut,
In my heart,
I know this,
It's hard to explain,
To understand,
But I Know it to be fact,
That house,
Was once MY home,
In a world long gone,
In a world,
From the past,
In a life,
I lost some time ago,
