Preparation
We circled in on the small section,
That was pinpointed on our map,
As we moved in,
We split up,
I was with a man named Jerry,
And we moved through the brush,
Keeping tabs on our location,
We moved within 500 feet of our target,
And we waited,
To regroup,
Other members of our team circled in,
From the left and the right,
And we began to talk,
Debriefing each other,
On what it was that we saw,
And we planned our attack,
The heavy artillery,
Was just out of view,
Drivers were in the wings,
Waiting for the signal,
We moved up,
And gave the morose code signal,
I felt the rumbles,
And I feel the rush,
The machines appear around the compound,
And the power through the Fence,
As they started through the plain,
They opened fire,
We all chased after it,
And before we knew it,
The battle had begun,
And before I knew it they were everywhere,
These things,
Had expected us all along,
And were waiting,
I watched as they began to rip apart the machines,
Losing some of their own,
As they did so,
But the end result,
Was all that mattered,
I watched as they began putting some of us,
Into cuffs,
Others they just killed,
They finally caught me,
And put cuffs around my wrist,
They dragged me up the steps of the building,
And there I saw The Overseer,
He had a halfhearted smile on his face,
"We almost did it kid,
Almost,"
That was his last word,
I watched as a blade went through his torso,
He fell to the ground,
And the blade drew back,
I looked to the end,
I stood in shock,
Not sure if I saw what I thought I saw,
But then,
"Hello Brother"
About The Piece
This was a plot twist that I wasn't sure how I was going to do. I knew that I wanted to do something with a massive twist. But this was one of those that I wasn't sure how to work but I think it worked well.
Tomorrow, there will be a special post as I take a step away from the writing of these pieces, and then Friday it's another piece that will take you further down the ride. Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
