In The Demon's Head #162: Remembering 9/11
September 11, 2013
Hello everyone I hope that today finds you in good spirits. Normally, I would be starting these posts here with some random promotional bit before I introduce you to the picture that I will be basing my piece around that day. Today, however, I'd like to show you a picture and following that picture is a post about my feelings toward 9/11 and how our world has changed since that day.

Hello everyone I hope that today finds you in good spirits. Normally, I would be starting these posts here with some random promotional bit before I introduce you to the picture that I will be basing my piece around that day. September 11, 2001 was a tragic day in the United States. It was the largest single most deadly event in the entire United States history. In reality, that day has drastically shaped the current place that we're in as a country. It's also where I considered the start of the recession that we are in right now. Then there are countless people who died, and those still alive that were affected.
Now I'm not writing this post to spark a political debate, I'm a writer not a politician. I'm writing this post because it was one of those days in American History, that those of us lucky to still be here, remember where we were, and the weeks that followed. I myself was in in fifth grade when everything happened. They ushered us into the Gym and there we sat for a while. It was scary but it was a memory that I won't ever forget.
The next four days was nothing but news on every single channel. No matter what channel you put it on, news was on. It was the only time that non-news channels hosted news. Shortly thereafter, World Wrestling Federation hosted the largest public gathering since the attack. It was a massive step on the recovery road, and love or hate Pro-wrestling, you have the respect the speech that Vince McMahon made check it out below:

The third thing I remember was the first performance of Allan Jackson during the CMA's where he debuted a song he had written only a few weeks earlier. The song entitled "Where were you when the world stopped turning" is still hands down one of the best songs that I've ever heard in any genre. At the end of the day September 11 taught us that as a country, we come together. It showed the reasons that I loved this country.
That wraps up today's post. I'd like to offer you a chance to subscribe to the blog and get a free piece called "Duke". All you have to do is put your email address in the field. Also, you can check out my Library section of the site. Until the next time you take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
