Sand Sandals
No one knows her name,
No one knows how she got here,
But every month,
Under the full moon,
The waters part,
And release a sand bar,
From the ocean,
Ad she walks,
From end to end,
Looking out into the ocean,
Her sandals leaving imprints in the sand,
She never makes a noise,
Back and forth,
For hours,
Eventually,
The water begins to overtake the bar again,
And she slowly sinks back into the water,
People say that her spirit,
Is of a woman who committed suicide,
After her husband was lost at sea,
In a boating accident,
No one will ever know,
Exactly why she does what she does,
And many people,
She'll just continue making,
Footprints in the sand,
About The Piece
This piece was inspired by both the picture and the lyrics to an old Garth Brooks song that popped into my head when I saw the picture. Overall, I enjoyed the piece and how it turned out and I hope that you did as well. If you have some feedback, or some comments, please share them in the comments section below. It would be much appreciated.
Remember, you can check out the Library section of the website for some information on the upcoming "Blackout" novella. Hopefully within the next week or so you'll be able to preorder it. In the meantime, if you haven't yet, sign up for the mailing list. You'll get a free subscription to this blog, as well as some freebees that will be coming your way. Finally, be sure to check out my social media channels here. Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's Head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
