Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of In The Demon's Head. Today's post picks up about six months after the final piece last Friday. We're on the brink of a surprise assault on the Calatars, but our Main Character's life is about to change forever. Let's sit in on the meeting now, on "The Eve of War."
The Eve OF War
Six Months had passed,
We had prepped,
Prepared,
And occasionally,
I was lost in the Room of Portals,
Watching my parents,
Who day by day,
Slowly lost hope,
That I was coming home,
It was a fight that I had once had,
But had given up on some time ago,
I couldn't imagine how it broke my parent's heart,
To lose another child,
But they were going on,
And that was the most that I could ask for,
I thought back to how my sister had died,
At least that was the official story,
I was too young to think about it then,
But I realized as I got older,
That she was actually kidnapped,
And they never found the body,
That was almost 10 years ago,
And my mom and dad,
Never really got over it,
I can't blame them for that either,
I watched them eating dinner,
And when I couldn't do it anymore,
I walked out and went into the War Room,
The meeting was already taking place,
I slipped into the back and sat down,
Everything was starting to wind down,
"Tomorrow morning,
We sat out in search of the camp,
Of those damn things,
We've narrowed down the area,
To 3 square miles,
If we spread out,
Search,
And stay in contact,
Then we'll be able to find them,
Then,
We'll regroup,
And begin our assault,"
A cheer went up around the room,
I felt excited,
And worried,
At the same time,
"We'll meet down here,
Tomorrow at sunrise,
Get some rest."
About This Piece
This is the start of an interesting chapter in "What Once Was..." I don't know how this entire ride will end just yet, though most of the time I don't. I do know that there are a lot of bombshells planned for this part of the story though. I hope that you guys will continue to enjoy the ride.
Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
