In The Demon’s Head #231: Three Steps In The Wrong Direction
August 3, 2015
Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of In The Demon’s Head. If you read the first post late last week, you know what it was that I was doing in the last month. I’m excited for everything moving forward, but the excitement isn’t the point of this post today. Instead, I want to talk about a few things that happened in the month that I took away from this blog.

Marriage Equality
At some point, I can’t remember the exact day, all 50 states finally legalized Gay Marriage and made it official in all 50 states. Personally, I absolutely love this ruling. As someone whose been completely cool with gay people and someone who thought that this was a no brainer it’s about damn time.
However, there’s a flip side to this coin as well. The people within the media used the whole thing as a focal point for their coverage and now, all of a sudden everyone’s attention is turned away from things that really matter all because of the right to marry.
Racism isn’t dead
Before you read too much into what I’m about to say, know that I am very much not a racist. Instead, I’m of the sound mind that I really like most people regardless of skin color or anything else. Every race, across the board has it’s fair share of bad people. The problem that I saw was all of a sudden, after 200 plus years, the confederate flag made the news.
While I could sit here and point out all of the flaws in America the fact that a flag hung in the south for nearly 200 years and no one bitched. The media brought it up and said that it was horrific atrocity. The problem is, again the media is the driving force behind this.
The General Pussification of a Population
The last few months I’ve had conversations with a number of co-workers that I know. We’ve talked about how people’s mindsets have changed over the last dozen or so years. In fact, in my own personal opinion, a majority of these problems started in 2001, right after the terrorist attacks of September 11.
It seems that now days everyone wants to be the victim, everyone wants a handout, everyone wants something for jack-shit and that’s the problem is that we as a country are allowing this. This means that children are raised believing it, then more douchebags are released into the system. It’s a generally retarded attempt at anything if you buy into the idea that you are entitled to anything, or your a victim. Help me, I’m fat and it’s not my fault. For fuck sake, don’t blame other people for your problems, stand up, and take responsibility.
Final Thoughts
If you saw the picture that’s posted up top that goes along with this post, and you got all pissed off and wanted to write me a threating comment telling to take it down… your part of the fucking problem. If you saw the title of this and thought you were going to read it, just so you could bash me because I was defending “Everything wrong in this country” Your part of the fucking problem.
Things won’t get better overnight, but if we all start taking a little more responsibility and caring a little more about our fellow man, then I can promise you things will take a step in the right direction.
