In The Demon's Head #209: Three Years and some bullshit later

Hello everyone,
I hope that this post finds you guys healthy, happy, and warm. As I write this post late on Tuesday evening, the snow is coming down very quickly and quietly at my front door. First real snow storm that we've seen this year and it royally blows. I got to thinking about this blog earlier today.
I realized that I've been writing on it for over 200 post, over the course of three years. For me that's a hell of a lot of writing,
I got to thinking even more about it and realized that this blog has undergone some changes, and has changed homes twice. In fact until my post earlier this month, I realized that I hadn't posted anything new on the blog in over 4 months. Dry spells like that royally blow because I feel as if I'm not doing as much as I should. I won't lie it's horribly frustrating to know that there's a lot more that you can do and you don't or can't due to things that are, or aren't under your control. I know how misleading that entire thing can sound and I promise that's not my intention.
I write these words attempting to figure out how to say exactly what I want to in this post. There are a few things that I'd like to get out there but I'm unsure where to start and exactly how to say what I aim to say. Let's start with the smaller, easier to digest piece of information I suppose.
Three Years, One Novel Later
If you've visited the Library section of my website, you'll notice that I have some things up for sale there. However, none of them are novels. This is a fact that I truly wish to fix. The problem is, that this is a problem that I've aimed to fix for almost 3 years and as you've seen no such luck. That error is rectified here within the next week or two as I near completion on the first draft of my first novel. I'm very excited to say how the finished product turns out, and I feel as if I'm a long ways from that, however we'll see.
Personally, I like the storyline and I'm digging the character development and feel that there's a lot there to discuss. I'll keep you updated as things progress in the world that I'm creating.
Another Shift in Focus
Three years into this and I'm still out trying to find my voice on this blog. I've shifted from rants, to talking about writing, to posting poetry pieces, and once again, as I enter my third year my focus will shift slightly again. I want to write personal pieces I want to let you guys into my world, it's a fine line to walk writing this blog. I want to give you guys engaging and entertaining content but at the same time I don't want to shy too far away from what I've been doing with this site and blog but I think that opening up a little, and just talking about different topics will help expand this blog and my audience. Hell I'll start taking suggestions for topics through my Facebook Page and email so keep an eye on that. My current goal is to probably try and put out a new post every Monday, like I said I'll likely start taking questions and suggestions for posts so get some in mind.
The Damn Sign up ACTUALLY works now!
About a year ago I sat up a way to capture emails as a way to help grow and expand my audience... the problem was that the subscribe buttons for both of the forms disappeared for some reason. I did some digging but could never figure out HOW to get the forms to work for me. Well guess what... I HAVE NOW SUCCEEDED Because I did away with the forms.
Now all you have to do is push a button on the website and it will launch the form WITH the button now available to subscribe. What's even better is that for subscribing you'll get a free copy of "Blackout" through a coupon code on smashwords. If you've wanted to read this book but were on the fence now is your chance to get it for free. However, sign up now as I'm not sure when this offer goes away. It really is that simple.
Final Thoughts
Though I'm a little nervous and unsure about the new creative direction of this blog, I'm going to see what happens and make it for all it's worth. I'm hoping that this new direction will lead to more post and a more rejuvenated writing for me. As always, I'm aiming to invite you all along for the ride.
Thanks for three years and here's to hoping that the next three build on what I know and are more successful. We can hope right? Remember to check out my library, or click here to sign up for the newsletter. It's really that simple. Last but not least, click here and follow me on Facebook. Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's Head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
