In The Demons’ Head: Examining My First Two Months With More Time
June 2, 2017
Hello everyone and welcome to June, and another edition of “In The Demons’ Head” It’s hard to believe we’re already 5 months through the year and I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished a damn thing, though I can’t say much because at the end of this month, maybe the beginning of next month, I will be examining the work that I’ve done through the year and seeing where I might be as far as that goes.

For now though, I’d like to examine the last two months that I’ve spent trying to get as much accomplished as I could in the new 4 days off a week that I have because of a new job that I have. First lets look at some negatives.
One of the negatives is that I now know what my schedule is week in and week out so I haven’t had to guess week to week what I’m going to be working. That has lead me to be able to plan more around my free time and because of that it has taken some time away from my writing.
But on the flip side of that because of knowing exactly how many days I have off, and what they are I have the ability to know what it is that I need to do on a regular basis every single week. That’s actually a pretty damn good feeling if I’m being honest. It gives me a freedom to plan more or less around my job how to do the job that I actually want to do.
Something else that I’ve learned is that these blog post take up some time. I’m not saying that I don’t enjoy them but as I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been a little more inconsistent with these post then maybe I should have. Either way you look at it, I’ve realized that some of these post have found their way to the back burner as I was trying to go back and forth between projects.
Another thing that I’ve learned is that If I try and keep myself super productive and stay on track, then it works. What I mean is that I’m able to continue to take steps forward and move onward into my goals and because of that I’ve been able to accomplish quite a bit in the last couple of months that I might not have been able to accomplish without the stability and the set schedule of this new job.
If I had to guess, this productivity should continue. I hope that it does. If it does, then I’m making progress every single day I sit down at this computer, with every single word that I write and because of that I can’t be happier. But on the flip side I have to be careful because if I don’t, I’ll find myself facing burn out from burning the candle at both ends. But for now I’m living it up and loving most of every second of it so it’s not going to cease any time soon.
Next week I’m going to sit down and talk about the AHA moment that I’ve experienced with books in the last few months, at least on the side of the writer of the book. That’s next week, so until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demons’ head, I’m Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
