In The Demon's Head #132: Midnight Racer
June 24, 2013
Hello everyone, and welcome to another Monday. Before I reveal today's picture, I want to share a story with you. Some of you that read this blog are readers, others, are writers. I've seen it written half a dozen times, writing isn't a real job. While I can agree and disagree at the same time, I had a moment this past week that really opened my eyes to how my brain works. I lay in bed for hours, unable to sleep. I turned over an idea for a book in my head, and I wanted to put it away, let it set and then come back. But my brain wasn't having that, I was finally forced to get out of bed and write it down, as soon as I did, I was able to fall asleep. It just goes to show that your brain is ultimately in control. Enough of that though, let's take a look at today's piece:

Midnight Racer
The cars are fast,
The girls are hot,
And the parties are loud,
All in the glorified world,
Of Underground racing,
You have to evolve,
Adapt,
And be prepared,
Because you never know,
When the next race may be,
But on the opposite side of the fence,
The police,
Are on your tail,
Waiting for you,
To mess up,
Blow a tire,
Put a rod through the engine,
All in the name,
Of hauling you in,
And throwing you behind bars,
And slamming the door shut,
On your life,
And your racing,
At 150 MPH,
The world goes by,
In a blur,
Whistling,
As the trees,
Roll by,
It's an addiction,
A drive,
A need,
And no cell,
Or cops,
Are going to put an end to that,
The sun will rise tomorrow,
And you'll be out soon,
Back on the streets,
A speeding ticket in your procession,
Back behind the wheel,
Looking for the next soul,
Sorry enough,
To flash his headlights,
And rev his engine,
At you
About This Piece
"Midnight Racer" was really inspired by the Need For Speed games. When I saw the picture, I couldn't help but be pulled in that direction. I really like how this piece turned out overall, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Please feel free to share your feedback in the comments section below.

It's a good value.
Until next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
