In The Demon's Head #146: The Fortress
July 29, 2013
Hello everyone, it's Monday. Monday as a whole is a bitch, you have the weekend off, and then it's back to work Monday. I can't really complain. I have today and tomorrow off, which is nice. But for those of you who are stuck at work today, I want to bring you something to lighten your day. Today is the first of three new pieces that I'll debut this week. As always, let's take a look at the picture first.

The Fortress
It's so far away,
I used to be able to fly,
But the darkness,
Has drained me,
So now I walk,
Slowly,
Up to the waiting wings,
Of the fortress,
And inside,
Await my ultimate goal,
Salvation for my race,
I walk,
Slowly the leaves crumple under my feet,
If you could see the darkness creep around me,
You'd know,
That the time is coming,
The creatures,
That frequent the night time,
Horned beast,
That grumble in strange languages,
I walk,
Trying to find my way to the fortress,
Night goes,
With no incident,
But morning,
Morning comes with it's challenges,
I found my way to the steps that lead to the inside,
I walked in,
And inside was lit up,
With torches,
I walked,
And I found what I was looking for,
The man on the throne,
Stared,
He knew why I was there,
And as I began to beg,
He snapped his fingers,
They came,
And they took me,
We travelled down,
I fluttered around in the small jar,
Darkness swallowed us up,
And finally,
They sat me down,
As the cage settled in around me,
I watched him walk away,
As I wondered how it was,
That I could get out.
About The Piece
This piece is the first of a trilogy for the week. The three pictures work well and there's a lot of story to be told. I think when the end of the day comes on Friday you'll very much enjoy the entire collection. Be sure to come back Wednesday when I reveal the second part to the trilogy.
Remember you can sign up for the mailing list, to do so just fill out the form to the right of the blog. You'll receive "Duke" the free short story as well as other cool pieces of information. Most notably you'll be the first to know when "Blackout" is available for Pre-Order. Plus you get a subscription to the blog. It's all Free. Until next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell, and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
