In The Demon's Head #189: The Overseer
May 26, 2014
Hello guys and welcome to another edition of "In The Demon's Head" in fact today's edition is extremely special as we celebrate Memorial Day, or as most people have come to refer to it, the unofficial kickoff to the summer. I'm deciding to kick off the end of this weekend with the next piece in this arc entitled "The Overseer" to get caught up on everything check back through the last three post on the blog. Today's post does not come complete with a picture, in fact I'd venture to say that the three of these post this week, should they all go in with this current arc, will not contain a picture. So without further ado, here's "The Overseer"

The Overseer
The nightmares were vivid,
I saw the bodies in the street,
And the blood ran rough the drains,
I woke up,
Drenched in sweat,
The sun had went down,
I sat up and looked around,
The guys at the table,
Were gone,
I heard footsteps coming down the stairs,
I got up,
And dusted myself off,
I watched the guy walk into the room,
With a cane,
He stared at me,
And motioned me to him,
I walk forward,
And we climbed the stairs,
We walked through the hallowed stairwell,
Not exchanging words,
Once we reached the top,
We walked onto a platform,
And stared out over the land,
For as far as my eyes can see,
"Do you see what is left?"
I looked over and nodded,
"It's been like this for years,
It started with the bombs,
That went off in cities to the west,
And people fled,
They didn't know where they were going,
But they knew that they couldn't stay there,
So they fled,
And those in charge,
Started hunting down people,
They were catching people on the street,
And killing them,
Then throwing them into mass graves,
And burning them,
In an attempt to control,
The population,
It worked much better,
Then they expected,
Millions died,
Around the country,
And the stench of burnt flesh,
Still rolls through the air,"
This triggers my senses,
And for the first time,
I realize,
That I smell the flesh,
"But that was only the beginning,
And it has lead us,
To where we are,
There's a war on the horizon,
And there's more to this story,
I need you to come with me,"
He started down the stairs,
I had no choice but to follow,
(To Be Continued...)
