In The Demon's Head #168: Up In The Air
November 22, 2013
How's everyone doing on this Friday afternoon? As I sit in front of my window watching it slowly get dark I realized that it's Friday. You'd think this would be a good thing, but as it turns out my job requires weekends. That's never a good time. The premise of this blog post today is very simple. It's been roughly 11 days since my last post and I'd like to update you on some of the goings on here as of late.

New Novella Idea
When your brain is twisted and works in odd ways like mine, you realize that some things just are odd. It's even odder when random ideas pop into your head while you're doing things. That happens to me a lot. In fact, the other night while driving down a deserted stretch of road, I came up with a new idea. I don't want to give away a lot of information about the idea just yet, mainly because I'm not sure when I'll get around to writing it. I can give you the working title though, "Three Miles". It is one of those things that I really enjoyed when it came to mind. Even now, I really like it. I'll keep you updated as the idea flourishes.
December Collection
I'm still interested in releasing a collection of two poems, and two short stories sometime in December. Originally, this idea sparked another. I thought about creating a small e-zine. However, I don't know if there would be an interest in such a thing yet. If there is please let me know. I wouldn't use it just for myself, but I'd love to feature other writers and artist. It's an idea that I may resolve back to, we'll have to see. In the meantime, this is a collection that will likely happen. If it does it will be available across most major distributors and will only be 99 cents. I'll keep you updated as a date gets nearer.
Up In The Air
Recently I've found myself wondering about my future in writing. Now, before anyone asks, I'm not giving up the words. I think this is an addiction that I can't shy away from anymore. However, I've debated my pathway. I'm big on living and dying by my own merits. For me this always meant that you have to do self-publishing. I've always viewed self-publishing as an awesome vehicle. I looked at it that way because it put you in control. The hardest part about that is that you have to build an audience from the ground up. With traditional publishing anymore, you're responsible for your own sales. I'm completely okay with that, but then it begs the question. Is it worth it to take the traditional route?
For me, I believe that I could reach success. The problem is getting enough buzz generated to keep people interested and make them want more. I'm really hoping that I'm on the right track going forward, though it all remains to be seen.
At the end of the day, this is a debate I may continue to have with myself. I can't thank you guys enough for your continued support and love. I hope that I can keep working on things that make you guys want to read more.
I think that's going to wrap up everything for me. I'd love for you to check out the library and pick up your copy of the free collection "More Than Memories" or the novella "Blackout" the retailers are listed next to each one. Also, sign up for the mailing list. You'll receive a free piece entitled "From First To Last" as well as get yourself a subscription to this blog. Last, you can join me on social media. Pick your poison of choice by clicking here.
Until the next time you want to take a trip through the gates of hell and into the demon's head, I'm Kyle Robinson wishing you a safe trip back to the surface.
